On the remote jungle island of Mindanao, a small expedition of oil-prospectors and their pilot make a rough landing. Two of the group are killed outright in the crash and ensuing chaos. The survivors — Robert Harper and his colleague Rolf — press on into the rainforest in search of their missing comrades and a way home. As nature’s dangers mount and their resources dwindle, Robert is seized by a tribe of primitive cannibals. Stripped of his dignity and thrust into merciless rituals, he must fight the terror of the jungle and the cruelty of his captors if he hopes to escape. Meanwhile Rolf battles his own wounds, the unforgiving terrain and his fractured will. Ultimately the film becomes a harrowing survival odyssey, a descent into a world where civilisation’s rules no longer apply and where one man must become something else to survive.

In the end only one may return from this “last cannibal world”, changed forever by what he has endured.
